I'm hooked. I started downloading the HBO series, Game of Thrones, earlier this week, after hearing great reviews about it. I finished episode 8 this morning and can't wait for the next. I spent almost 3.5 hours glued on the Wiki page of A Song of Ice and Fire yesterday, trying to know more about the characters and the story (such complicated names and family histories). Bought the book as well. I believe this is the first time I watched something before reading the material, and I'm glad I did just that. I don't think I would have understood the story any better, it's like replaying the series in my head. It may come off a bit gory, I flinch too much on those scenes, and R-18, too much nakedness, yes, but it is a must see. You might want to consider spoiling yourself by reading series synopses, like I did. I'm not sure if I would still be that affected when I come to the part where my beloved characters will die, though. Twisted plot line. I think George R. R. Martin likes killing the good guys. Heh.
P.S. Crushing on Jon Snow (yeah, over Robb Stark) and isn't Bran the cutest?
P.P.S. It is a must to visit their official YouTube channel. It gives an overview of the different houses, and character features. You can have a taste of Westeros, too, as interpreted by Chef Tom Colicchio. There's a Game of Thrones for Dummies as well. Cool, eh?
P.P.P.S. Had such a great, fantastic week. James McAvoy, Jon Snow, CF. Payday, normal work hours, smiles. Rain, cold weather, tea time. :)
