It's the same old crowd. Endless chatters, swift leg movement, vanity mirrors lost in a sea of screens and tabs, eyes rolling from a reason you cannot fathom, genuine laughter, pretentious smiles. This is just a sporadic wave of melancholy. In a snap, an overwhelming feeling of joy fades, your heart crushes, you feel totally left out. You waste time thinking of a rational explanation and end up going in circles. It makes you queasy. It leaves you fidgety. You want to rant blatantly but you're not that kind of person. You want to scream, you want to cry, but you pinch your arm and remind yourself that it won't make things right. So you breathe. In and out. In and out. Heavy sighs. Happy thoughts, trying to reach that pot of gold. You let go of your worries. You smile. You're a better person now.
