I know it should be Palawan that I'm blogging about right now but hellsssss, let me just tell you this awesomeness. In my almost 3 years of stay at IHG, I haven't once used my employee room benefit. There was a time last year when I tried to, but failed (and so we ended up at a competitor hotel, haha). Yesterday was my first(!), and I can say that I am a happy guest.

While checking in, my aunt asked me if breakfast was included. I said no. Upon hearing us, the cheerful front desk suggested (aka upselling) if we wanted to take advantage of the Club Intercontinental upgrade, which includes access to the lounge, unlimited internet access (that had my surname for password -- how cool is that?), as well as breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails for 2, among other perks and privileges that we don't really need. 

Seeing it as a good deal, my aunt agreed. I talked her into maybe just upgrading one room, but I guess she's a real sucker for club lounge accesses that she had both rooms upgraded. No need to argue, I wasn't paying. Hehe.

What made me happy? HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS. Guys, they're not kidding about it. On the way to the hotel, I started downloading Vampire Diaries' most recent episode only to stop it because using a broadband stick inside a moving car isn't my bestfriend. I set up my laptop upon entering the room and within minutes, checked back and saw my torrent file already seeding. IN TEN MINUTES, THAT HAPPENED.

I don't know about you, but I have never, ever, experienced that kind of internet speed before. And it made me mad. Like crazy. Because I started downloading a wolf pack of tv series like there's no tomorrow. Just to give you a gist of the bliss it has given me: in approximately 14 hours, I have downloaded 8 series titles that makes up a total of 15 seasons, and 7 movies. I wish I was kidding but I'm not. It's insane, and I love it.

The sugar on top: I'll be back next week for 2 nights and, oh boy, joy.
