Hey there! That's basically me doing a high-five with myself at the mirror. Ha! This will just be an update of sorts since I just got home and, after eating pizza and isaw (om nom nom), went straight upstairs without even changing. The past week had been quite eventful, one thing that is never normal in the life of the pig. (If you haven't a clue of who that pig is, I sneer at you. Pig.)
Sunday
Dinner with the batch (see previous post). We weren't complete, which was sad, but hell did we have a great time. I'm giving 70% of the credit to the food. Haha. While writing this I'm already calculating future food sessions with my friends from college. Oh my. I can't wait for the BER months to arrive! :))
Monday
I stretched muscles this day and felt nostalgia sweep my senses. I don't know how it happened but I suddenly got the urge to fix my cabinet, which had been stagnant during my days in college. The pink-peach-flesh cabinet that housed mementos and trinkets which I gathered through the past years. I was able to go through stuff I haven't seen in ages and it felt good, although that also meant letting go of some things I deemed a waste--and surprisingly filled up a large trash bag. I inherited the knack of keeping even littlest, senseless things, from my mom. You'll probably laugh at me when you see perfectly-scored Algebra and Geometry papers, sealed golden appetizer forks, a bucket of empty Staples highlighters, a handful of mini origami stars, blank Polaroid films, to name a few, hidden in a pile of junk. My best collection would be chocolate boxes. It's not huge, but I love every one I got. I started collecting them in college, and every time there's a nifty box in the fridge, I know (and everyone in the house knows) I gotta have them. So there, I love looking at my cabinet now that it's all tidied up. Had a good night's sleep as well after drinking Claritin, since I was attacked by my allergic rhinitis again (it was too strong, I felt like I was dying, haha, exagg, and happens every damn time).
Tuesday
Fourth of July in the US, and everyone in the office were having a blast, making me feel terrible for having my back rested on my comfy bed. Weird, I know. The day was drizzly, the weather cold, and I spent my day on the world wide web.
Wednesday
I can't remember what I did this day. Don't even mind.
Thursday
I braved the rain and went to MOA to reserve IMAX tickets for Harry Potter. All the best seats were already taken, so I just had to cope with what's left. Sucks, I know. The seats for the weekend screening were almost full, so choosing between the 10:30 am or 1:30 pm screentime for Thursday didn't take any time at all. I spent 2 minutes comparing the better seat each had to offer and then made the purchase. Since it was raining quite hard outside, I went around a bit and discovered Gong Cha. I didn't have an appetite for tea that time, since I was craving for fish balls and couldn't find any stall anywhere, but caved in since it's a tea place and I just had to try it. I was left disappointed, but would probably try some of their other concoctions at another time.
Friday
The majority of my morning at the office was spent in jitters, suspense and frustration since our bid rank was about to be given. It is usually sent out via email so once you read it, you'll heave out a huge sigh of relief (or otherwise, depending on what you see there). But our team manager had her own way of laying it out. We had a one-on-one. Yeah, cold and trembling hands were left cold and trembling. I was expecting a lower ranking than that of last quarter, and I can tell you an unending list of reasons here, but then let's just leave it at that, so when she called me and pulled out the Excel file revealing my standing, I dropped my jaw. I kept telling her "Weh! Weh! Hindi nga?" hehehe. It was a shock, but a good one. My dilemma now is whether to still choose a 4x11 sched, or get back to normal work hours, 5 days a week. Either way, I would still get a morning shift. Definitely.
The night was spent in Ortigas. I only had an avocado smoothie for lunch since I wasn't hungry at all, a miracle, really, so no doubt I left the office feeling weak and with a gurgling tummy. Stopped by Megamall to have my BonChon fix. Oh gods, was that heaven. I then proceeded to Subspace at Grand Emerald Tower. I would call it their soft opening, but I don't really know what they called it because we were only invited by Mao for free coffee that day. Met with Maix and two of her workmates and spent hours there. It's got a chill ambience and the interior was really, really nice! The owners (Mao's bosses) also owned Space Encounters, hence the great furnishings. It's a small space but a really decent hangout place. I will definitely go back for paid drinks. Haha. :))
Saturday
I was left home alone. Deja vu from my unemployment-after-resigning-from-my-first-job days crept. Ho ho. Thought I wasn't gonna enjoy the day because I had a stupid moment of forgetting where I placed 8 pieces of 500-peso bills, until, after hours of searching the house, I found it in my bag. Clever. I'll have Alzheimer's earlier than y'all think. Cried my heart out after seeing this. Spent the entire afternoon + evening lying in bed, channel surfing. I love, love, love lazy, rainy Saturdays.
So there. The week that was. That might still sound pretty boring for those who party hard at night. But for the blankly-staring-into-oblivion, finger-biting kid in me, that's a week spent brilliantly. Chos. :)
