"Now I know that I am good enough. I am special.
I am fat and I do need to take care of myself better.
I am romantic and I do have passion and because of this
I know how to take care of people."
This came from a friend's blog post. She's experiencing something all of us has gone through, in the same or a mildly different case. We all have an equal share of cynics, which is one unpreventable thing in this world. Truth is, we can never really please everybody.
We live not to amuse people nor get their sympathy, although living normally does not hinder us from getting raised eyebrows or a full head to toe stare. Some would even go to the extremes to put us down and make us feel pathetic. They are terribly making a mistake. We may be weak at heart and take it with a slit on the wrist at first. That's normal. But what's important is that in the long run, we choose not to let it eat us whole. We should rise from their offhand remarks and prove them otherwise. As the adage goes, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. In the end, we become the hero and they will forever be amazed with our greatness.
