OH, BOY, JOY

Three days seem to have passed by like a bullet train. It's now my fourth (and last *sad fez*) day off work and if only it wouldn't be a waste of a future VL payout, I'd've extended my leave until Friday. So much for wishful thinking. The rain isn't helping, either. But I'm not here to vent. This is basically a fangirling post of the past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con shindig. Truthfully, all I did since Thursday was favorite all SDCC-related tweets while secretly dying out of a plethora of emotions swirling inside me because REALLY. How can you not? Sighs and squeals and laughter escaped my dry mouth while watching the different panels of my beloved TV series and movie franchises. Thank you, Vint Cerf, for creating the Internet.

A YouTube heavy spam of my favorites after the cut!

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Undoubtedly the biggest in terms of eye candy and (an impressive) cast turnout. It feels surreal to be reminded that the first X-Men installment hit the theatres almost fourteen years ago. I wasn't even in high school then.
Highlights: Hugh Jackman's body (you can literally see his pecs even with that decent suit, like in any second he'd tear his shirt apart and transform into Wolverine), Sir Ian McKellen hitting on Fassbender, Jen and Nicholas exchanging googly eyes (or was it just my imagination? But really though, are they back together?), and of course, James McAvoy my love (I ADORE hearing his Scottish accent and watching his funny side in casual interviews like this one).

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

No Elizabeth Banks. No Donald Sutherland. No Woody Harrelson. No Stanley Tucci. No Phillip Seymour Hoffman. No Sam Claflin. This was pretty much boringggg, save for the outstanding interaction between JLaw and Josh, who looked like kids chuckling in their own little world at the end of the panel's table. But the highlight was definitely the new Catching Fire trailer, which I have been playing over and over and over (the victoooorrrsss!!!). I. Am. So. Excited. November will be the best month of this year, for sure. (Ha, talk about birthday month.)

GAME OF THRONES

If there is a panel that would rival X-Men's strength, it would be this. Or maybe this is a biased opinion, I don't know. I mean, you have the mother of dragons and the dead Starks in there. What else can you ask for? (Joffrey? No?) Not to mention, BEST SHOW ON TV. Highlight: Jason Momoa swooping in unannounced and planting one on Emilia Clarke! "My sun and stars," she exclaimed. That's cute.

BREAKING BAD

I love Aaron Paul so much, it hurts. The cast is amazing. The end is near.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

Such a fun bunch. Ian Smolderhalder shines with his quick retorts to fans, even setting one up for Nina (kind of awkward but really funny). Just so we're clear, I'm still Team Stefan! Looking forward to seeing season five ughhhhh October why are you so far away?

DIVERGENT

Why they split the cast into two different panels, I don't know, but the one with the supporting cast was definitely more entertaining than the one with Roth, Woodley and James. The Ansel Elgort interviews were the ones that I really loved the most, though, so that's what I'm posting. I'm keeping all my pent-up feels for the Divergent and TFiOS films in a bottle until further notice, but they're as wild as your thoughts.

FREEBATCH

As usual, the Sherlock gang present were just Gatiss, Moffatt and Vertue, but you'd already expect that since Martin and Benedict are busy as hell with projects here and there. Not complaining. They were still present though, in spirit and virtually, with a pre-recorded video for the fans. Let me just say, CUMBERBATCH YOU SONOFAGODDAMN PERFECT PERSON YOU. Deep breaths. Good lord this video is F! U! N! N! Y! in all caps and bold fonts. This alone made my entire week!

LOKI

Definitely a showstopper. Aaaah, Hiddles, I love you.

Apart from the goings-on at SDCC, there were also lovely treats from Nerd HQ. My ovaries broke watching these "Conversations" that are for the benefit of Operation Smile (aaaah, Zac, I love you):

Zachary Levi

Founder of The Nerd Machine and Nerd HQ; best known as Chuck, Fandral in Thor 2, Flynn Ryder in Tangled; all around nerd and dreamboat. Also, one of the funniest people on Twitter. Perfect person.

Tom Hiddleston

I'm having the strongest of urges to convert this to an mp3 file and then play it before going to sleep. That needs no explanation. He kneeled! He spoke French! He imitated a lot of people! Perfect person.

Richard Madden

The King in the North. I have deep love for Kit Harington but my god, after seeing this, my heart's divided. He's so adorable!!! Plus, it doesn't hurt that he's Scottish. (Oh, what them Scottish men do to me. #accent #JamesMcAvoy) Perfect person.

And thaaaaaaaat's about it! To attend this at least once (preferably with a GoT panel) would be a ball, but all it is now is a bullet in my bucket list. Technology is the greatest thing, isn't it?

ETA: Finally got around to watching the panels of two other shows that I l.o.v.e.

P.S. Nerd HQ panels are the best.

ORPHAN BLACK

I watched this show in one sitting, approximately seven hours of non-movement. I still think Tatiana Maslany was robbed of an Emmy nom. She is incredible.

HANNIBAL

Hugh Dancy and Bryan Fuller stuck with the flower crowns until the end of the panel. Tumblr's dream came to life. Too bad there's no Mads!
