Keep Me Warm

I love coming across wordy blogs. It keeps me sane. I've been a reader of many, but only a handpicked few remain in my daily must reads. It's refreshing and interesting to go through random people's random musings, a series of mind farts and brain vomits that actually make senseThese are strangers who let me in on their lives. Nonexistent one second, a giant breathing image in my screen the next. People who, by the power of their constructed words, suddenly transforms into a full-blown vision of a friend I know I'll never have, right before my eyes.

I may not ever be as eloquent or epigrammatic as these blog authors that I follow but at least I do have them to fill up the void. Vicarious living, they say. All my writing frustrations worded out perfectly on a white space that I can refresh and go back to anytime I want, by people who are mostly my age, some younger, who I can completely relate to and look up to at the same time. Sometimes I just want to enter the monitor to hug them and tell them to stay cool and witty and pretty and then whisper "I love you" in their ears like a creepy stalker I know I'm not. Seeing them online creates illusions in my head that they're somehow immortal but having seen two in the flesh, I now believe in their mortality. (weird side note: I know I won't be able to contain myself if I see Regina Belmonte IRL. Like, forealz. Ultimate crush from the golden days of tumblarity.)

In reading multiple blogs and in writing in mine, I've grown and am continuously learning. I'm no "McMasterGrammician," a pig still wishing for a microchip of the OED to be implanted in her brain, but the slew of paragraphs in this blog are a part of me and however shallow and misconstrued some of my posts are, I won't attempt to question them again. So, that's a pact.

This post just goes to show how I sometimes get too overwhelmed in reading blogs and how thankful I am that in the absence of a friend, a virtual stranger is the perfect stand-in. So, thank you, world wide web! :)
