While the wind is hustling and howling outside, and people are hanging on lamp posts, braving the gust of wind to go to work or head home, I'm stuck here at the office waiting for a miracle e-mail to alert us that management has finally decided to send us all home. An impossible miracle, to say the least. I wouldn't really be this alarmed if I knew that somebody was home during this moment. My aunt and brother are both at work as well. So, it's just our house and our dog. Gods, help us.
I do not follow any current events-related account on Twitter because I'm easily attacked by paranoia upon seeing any undesirable event happening in real time. Yes, I'm still trying to save my sanity after Ondoy and the earthquake scare. But hell, my sister kept tweeting PAGASA alerts and worse, mentioning me on each and every tweet. SEVEN HELLS. So there, I panicked. After a few text messages and phone calls, I calmed down. My brother has made it home, my books are safe, there's no flood..yet, and (WOW) there's still electricity. We defied the odds. Well, as of now.
Anyway, my weekend was yummy. Literally, food-filled. Aside from the savory food and pastries I devoured during the weekend, I, ehem, had 3 frozen delights in one night: green tea gelato (Gelatissimo), cookie dough mochi ice cream (Mochiko), and sea salt caramel ice cream (Merry Moo). OM NOM HEAVEN.
In other news: I bought bookmarks! At long last! Hee. No more using of scratch papers, receipts, MRT cards, tickets, paper bills, tissue, among other weird alternatives. My books are now happy. High five! :)
Aaaaannnd before I go home (yes, last 15 minutes of torture), I'd like to just mention my new addiction: CAKE BOSS! Been watching it nonstop (thank god for complete episodes on YouTube) since being curious why my friends love it. I'll probably make a separate post about it. Guilty pleaaaasssuuurreeee!
